Raymaker Land Management - first-year anniversary :-)

one year ago, i made the decision to enter the rental market in Second Life, with Raymaker Land Management :-)

through God's grace, i have been blessed with meeting many new people as my tenants, whom i would not otherwise have had the opportunity to interact with.

i am very grateful to each of you - thank you.

i haven't planned for any celebrations in-world; nevertheless, here are some celebratory pictures taken at a car showroom in Singapore during a traditional 'lion dance', on this, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year :-)

celebrate Winterfaire with the Lindens :-)

from December 19 to January 5, Linden Lab will be having its annual winter celebrations, centred around Wengen, Voss, Zermatt and Moritz.

there will be a Snowman Building Contest, and the Snowball Fight between the Lindens and Residents.

Raymaker Land Management is proud and happy to make available a choice of two rental properties at Anton, which is the nearest sim from which to visit and tour the Winterfaire celebrations in the afore-mentioned four regions.

The Grand Hotel at Grouse

just in time for the Christmas holidays, i've made available some accommodation in the classic Linden snowland region of Grouse.

Will Szymborska, who's organizing the Cross Grid Rally 2008, asked me recently if i would like to participate as a driver :-)

i must admit, the thought is pretty tempting :-P

but then, there's the small issue of an appropriate car to drive...

of course, the Citroën DS enjoyed a distinguished rallying record in its day; nevertheless, i was very glad, when i discovered just a few hours ago that Sandi Omlet has built a driveable replica of a Lancia Flaminia Super Sport.

the Flaminia Super Sport was built by Zagato between 1964 and 1967, and had a triple-carburettor 2.8 litre V6. it was the flagship of the Lancia range, and had double-wishbones at the front, a de Dion transaxle at the rear, and disc brakes all round.

in all, only 150 Super Sports were built.

Cross Grid Rally - Vehicle Road Rally Event

Be there when Second Life's first planned rallying event hits the Linden streets July 20th! Many drivers from all over the world (car enthusiasts, racers and car builders), will dominate the roads. CGR is unlike any other car event; It travels through some 250 regions (broken up into 3 stages).

Anyone and everyone is invited to be at the opening event, at the starting line of the most anticipated motoring event! In-between rallying stages, check out their cars at one of the 3 locations along the way, and spend time with SL's most car-savvy residents. This is a one time event, you won't want to miss! CGR kicks off in the snowy regions of the Sansara mainland continent from Grouse, where it travels through the two-lane snow-covered road-ways past local Austrian Police to the north, traveling some 67 sims. Then it's time to do some serious back-country driving through the scenic tropical regions of the Heterocera wandering the single-lane Japanese-police-patrolled roads until reaching a beach under the palms. Lastly, CGR heads from southern Sansara, and speeds its way over bridges and large scenic canyons, covering hundreds of thousands of road-textured prims.

it's been really a busy day for me - this is my third post :-)

i would just like to thank Tobias Novi for his help in setting up his terrifically crafted Treehouse.

i've kept my eye on a few treehouses by various builders over the past several months, but i could never find one which was truly compelling - till now.

i welcome you to visit it at Seefeld and consider starting a rental :-)

[update: as of 23 February, i have dismantled the Treehouse. i would like to take the opportunity to thank all its former tenants :-) ]

the Marina at Da Boom

the one-hundred-and-fifty-third episode of ventriloquy explores the connections between England's Lake District during the 1930s, and some of the most historic sims in present-day Second Life.

capping off a busy weekend, and just in time to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Second Life coming out of beta, i open the Marina at Da Boom to you :-) the Marina is built on a land parcel for which i have just taken over stewardship from Rockwell Ginsberg.

in this 3.3 MB download, i invite you to take the slow boat and explore the waters around the oldest regions on the grid - these were the first to come online.

if you do have the time, please also do consider visiting the newly-expanded and renovated Raymaker Learning Space at Eduisland 3; if you still can't get enough of the salt-sea-air in your lungs, i am very pleased to make available two Docksider homes by Blaccard Burks for your rental consideration. They lie at the edge of a Linden continent and therefore offer unspoilt sunrise views.

Temasek - first pic of the waterfront rentals

within twenty-four hours of coming onboard as Temasek's third architect, Lim Pikajuna has already worked his magic on the northeast corner the sim.

having come up with a brand-new bespoke design for Temasek, here is the first pic of Lim Pikajuna's waterfront chalets :-)

today, all four of us were present at Temasek this evening. the atmosphere really was electric, in large part due to the tremendous creative energy that each of the three architects was feeding off from, yet at the same time contributing to. as for me, it was just a huge thrill to be able to watch the team at work :-)
