i am pleased and relieved to share that a chapter documenting our team's early work in nurturing maker dispositions has finally been published :-)
from 2013 to 2015, we collaborated with teachers from one of the schools here in Singapore on trying to understand how the nurturing of maker dispositions among adolescents might be intentionally designed for. in August 2015, we were invited to document the story as a chapter.
the time spent during these years laid the foundation for our subsequent interventions and growth in South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and locally here in Singapore, with respect to what is now referred to as the Internet of Things.
this latter work, in turn, has catalysed our present research directions in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
these can all be traced back to our work which began nine years' ago, in a local school.
you can read about these beginnings in the chapter Nurturing Maker Dispositions Among Children with Open-Source Tools: A Case Study of a Junior High School in Singapore, which has just been published in the Springer volume Diversifying Schools.
