from the 21st of April till the 25th of May, the EdTech Hub launched a Call for ideas for EdTech responses to coronavirus (COVID-19).
the timing was truly God's provision, because it coincided with my team's development of the Socially Responsible Behaviour through Embodied Thinking (SORBET) Project.
today our team received news that we have been invited to share the SORBET Project during the 10th annual symposium of the Mobiles for Education Alliance.
we thank God for His continued grace and provision.
this year, the symposium is being conducted as a series of online events, with the overarching theme of Play and Technology for Lifelong Learning.
the particular event which will feature the SORBET Project is scheduled for the 14th to the 16th of September.
The mEducation Alliance was formed by USAID in 2010. It is an international collaborative effort between bilateral and multilateral donors, NGOs, foundations, private sector partners, and academic researchers. The collective agenda of the alliance is to: highlight and catalyze promising information and communications technology for education (ICT4E) practices and initiatives, particularly in low-resource and developing country context; to reduce duplicative efforts; to promote collective knowledge-sharing, and to identify and support efforts to evaluate and scale promising ICT4E interventions.
The EdTech Hub was founded in 2019 and is collaboratively run by a partnership of organisations. The EdTech Hub is a collaboration between the Overseas Development Institute, Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge, Results for Development, Open Development and Education, Brink, Jigsaw Consult, BRAC, Afrilabs and eLearning Africa. The EdTech Hub is funded by the UK Department for International Development, the World Bank and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
