Disciplinary Intuitions: sharing with visitors from the Chinese Academy of Sciences

my team and i were very humbled to be afforded the opportunity today to engage in conversation with a team of visitors from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

we would like to thank our colleagues from the Public, International, and Alumni Relations department of the National Institute of Education for kindly facilitating the meeting between our team and:

Maker Motes and Geographic Information Systems (GIS): appointment as Research Mentor

through God's grace, a collaboration between my team and a small inter-divisional team from the Ministry of Education here in Singapore, will be starting next year.

we just received the wonderful news that our application for funding of approximately US$25000 has been approved, and this means we will be able to work with teachers from two schools on taking our Maker Motes approach to new contexts of learning.

i am very grateful for this partnership, because they are presently all too rare and the diversity of perspectives each party brings can only strengthen the design of the learning intervention.

my team and i are very excited about this collaboration, which is titled an exploratory study on how a GIS-based inquiry empowered with unstructured making can lead to better decision making in students about their school environment.

Guide to developing digital games for early grade literacy for developing countries: at this year's symposium of the Mobiles for Education Alliance

i'm currently attending this year's symposium of the Mobiles for Education Alliance, during which i shared on 'Schools in Indonesia exploring local micro-climates'.

Disciplinary Intuitions / Six Learnings / Maker Motes: pre-conference workshop at National Tsinghua University

back in June, i shared that through God's grace, i will be delivering a keynote at the International Conference on Educational Innovation (ICEI) 2018, at National Tsinghua University.

my team and i have also been invited to facilitate a series of pre-conference workshops there, themed on STEM-based curriculum design.

we are very much looking forward to a time of rich interaction and collaboration with our friends and partners from Hsinchu Teachers' College :-)

with thanks to God, following our successful series of STEM workshops at the National Pingtung University in May, my team and i have been invited back on the 12th of this month for an extension workshop themed on Basic building in an open-source environment.

we remain very grateful to our hosts and friends at the National Pingtung University for the trust extended to us.
