further to my post two months’ ago about the alignment of Disciplinary Intuitions, the Six Learnings curriculum design framework, and enabling infrastructures such as Maker Motes, align with the Singapore Teaching Practice, my team member Derek has kindly come up with a diagrammatic representation.

celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Six Learnings curricular design framework :-)

this year and the next, there have been and will be a couple of significant anniversaries related to my hobbies / work / research interests :-)

last month, i already commemorated the tenth anniversary of the opening of the region of Temasek in Second Life :-)

today is another special day, for it was ten years’ ago that i introduced the Six Learnings curricular design framework to readers of this blog :-)

over the years, the Six Learnings framework has proven robust and adaptable to a wide range of curricular and educational research interventions.

today, it still forms the basis of our work with schools - both locally and beyond Singapore - and in 2014 it inspired the conceptualisation of Disciplinary Intuitions as a theory of learning.

Disciplinary Intuitions helps explain the learnings that accrue from any learning intervention which applies the Six Learnings framework with fidelity.

i thank God for the journey that He has taken my team and i on, and we commit ourselves to walking alongside Him in the years to come.

Enhancing Mathematics curriculum through Team-Based Learning

yesterday i wrote about how an education research programme that my team and i have greatly benefitted from, had finally ended.

as one chapter ends, so another - through God's grace - begins.

one of the grants i manage is Enhancing Mathematics curriculum through Team-Based Learning.

my team of five Research Assistants and i are excited about this grant, because it is our second active grant with an explicit focus on Mathematics. not only that, the funding awarded is double the quantum of our first grant, at US$145000.

this move in to understanding more about Mathematics education reflects a trajectory we began in 2015, through our Maker Motes approach.

i look forward to a fruitful collaboration with the staff and students of Spectra Secondary School :-)
