i have just received news that Professor Lee Sing Kong passed away today.
Prof Lee was a former Director of the National Institute of Education, from 2006 to 2014.
although he was Director, i did not know him very well, and it was only at a conference in Penang later in 2014 that i managed to talk to him for more than a few words as small talk.
i am glad i did, because i feel i got to know him (at least a little bit) as a person, and not as the head of my workplace.
i can’t say i kept in regular contact with him since 2014, but i do have the last email he sent me.
