thanks be to God :-)
my presentation proposal for this year's Second Life Community Convention (SLCC) has been accepted :-)
the presentation is entitled 'The Six Learnings framework in action: Examples from geography education in Singapore schools', and it's part of the convention's Education and Research track (ably chaired by Kevin Feenan (SL: Phelan Corrimal).
here's the description of the presentation:
This presentation will elaborate on the Six Learnings framework (which was introduced at SLCC 2008) by sharing how schools in Singapore have (over the course of 2010) been designing interventions in Second Life in Science, Languages and Geography. These interventions have been co-designed by curriculum officers from the Ministry of Education, by teachers, by developers (ie, builders / scripters) and by the presenter (representing the researcher in the Learning Sciences). The Six Learnings framework will be used as an organisational lens through which to examine the diversity of the interventions, with focus being - as far as possible - on the interventions themselves and their associated learning outcomes.
if you possibly can, please do join me in Boston this August :-)
