the one-hundred-and-eighty-third episode of ventriloquy is inspired by Grace McDunnough's recent post Is There A Culture in the Virtual World Second Life? in which she proposes a seven-element framework to address that very question.
essentially, one of the seven elements in her framework is that of language, and in this 1.7 MB download i try to outline the beginnings of an argument for a broader conceptualisation of 'language' beyond textual and oral forms of communication, especially as afforded by fictive worlds.
