after nearly two years with Skye as my home in Second Life, i have made the difficult decision to bid Alex Bader and the Skye Estate farewell.
my new home is still very much in Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater style, and its architect was Virtual Bacon.
please do feel free to stop by, i would welcome a chat. uprooting oneself from one's home is never easy, and this is only the second time i'm doing so since i first came in-world back in May 2007.
if i'm not around when you visit, do walk upslope - there are some terrific thermals coming in directly from the ocean, and you can lose track of time and your cares hang-gliding.
[afternote:
i've done a bit of reading up on both Skye and Cassiar in Real Life. Skye is in the Inner Hebrides, Scotland, while Cassiar is a mountain range in the Canadian regions of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. appropriately enough for a geographer's home, both Skye and Cassiar in Real Life have volcanic origins. another similarity is that they are both respectively the "most northerly" - Skye is the most northerly island in the Inner Hebrides, while the Cassiar range is the most northerly of the Northern Interior Mountains. unlikely as i am to ever visit either Skye or Cassiar in Real Life, it is all the more a true privilege to be able to call them home in Second Life :-) ]
[update #1: on the 3rd of June 2016, i vacated Cassiar.
update #2: on the 5th of June 2020, i moved to my new home at Seacliff.]
