in His perfect timing and all-sufficient Grace, God has provided for the initial funding for a research project which i first hinted at more than a year ago.
the Starling Project will be initially funded by a grant worth approximately US$70,000, and is one of seventeen approved by the Office of Education Research (OER) at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University during the most recent funding call.
i will be assisted by a Co-Principal Investigator from the Ministry of Education, and supported by my team of developers from the NIE's Translation and Development Unit. the funds will run out in about a year, so i'll be seeking subsequent funding sources to sustain the project through 2012.
if you are a principal of a school in Singapore and would like to know more, i would be happy to make an appointment with you to elaborate on the details :-)
[update: i have also received news today that a project in which i am the Co-Principal Investigator - in which Professor David Hung (the Principal Investigator) has applied for a US$170,000 grant from the OER to investigate our emerging socio-cultural construct of Zones of Regulatory Development in both face-to-face as well as online communities - has also been approved; all thanks be to God :-) ]
