although it started at least four months' ago, i only recently learned about the 'Geocaching in SL' group.
geocaching is a RL sport in which participants find hidden tokens through the exercising of their geographical literacies.
it only takes a moment's thinking about it to realise that to repurpose such an activity into a three-dimensional multi-user virtual environment - such as Second Life - is a no-brainer :-)
the Geocaching in SL group is founded by Nichiren Dinzeo. Nichiren helped me get started today by checking that my first-ever attempt at caching a geocache was properly configured.
if you are already an avid fan of the sport in RL, then this would be a natural extension of your interests into SL.
if you're totally new to geocaching, or even new to SL, then this would be the perfect opportunity to explore some of the best places in SL, in a fun and educational way :-)
either way, you can't really lose.
visit the Geocaching in SL group's website and start tracking down your first geocache!
:-)
