today was the second session which the teacher-trainees in my Service Learning class organised for some fourteen- to sixteen-year-old students from Christ Church Secondary School.
the focus today was on good sportsmanship and co-dependence in successfully achieving their goals. the students experienced these valuable lessons through a structured series of activities of increasing sophistication. in essence, the teacher-trainees had artfully created a Zone of Proximal Development within which the protagonists were the students themselves.
such a learning environment has close methodological parallels with my own work in spatial cognition and wayfinding among adolescents in Singapore.
it's all in this forty-first episode of ventriloquy, as a 21.4 MB download.
