motivation

my goodness!

the top hit is a feed featuring music videos, and the second most hits is ... well, you can read the description below yourself if you are thusly inclined.

Immanuel - 'God with us'

for many of us, this is the first Christmas that we are able to share the joy through a podcast.

the joy i wish to share with you is the joy of celebrating the birth of the Christchild, who was born so that those of us who believe may have life everlasting.

for my inaugural Christmas podcast (at 35.6 MB), i bring you excerpts of a performance by young members of Cherith Baptist Church, as part of a public outreach programme at a local shopping centre.

the peace and joy that is reflected in the performers' faces can be yours too!

all you need to do is to answer His knocking at the door of your heart, and worship Him as your Lord and Saviour.

(to commemorate the birth of the King of my life, i am using a purple scheme for the blog, because purple is the colour of royalty).

high life

come celebrate with me the production of ten video podcast episodes with a walk twenty-five metres above the ground, up in the canopy of a rainforest!

the thirty-seventh episode of ventriloquy features the TreeTop Walk in Singapore's central water catchment area, which is a nature reserve.

the TreeTop Walk connects the two highest points in MacRitichie reservoir, namely Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang.

the relentless pursuit

had my last face-to-face meeting with Allan today.

from now on, our consultations will be taking place through email (unless, of course, i find myself in Brisbane :-P )

he said the thesis is ready for submission, but he suggested holding off a while longer, while i go take a break.

that way i can return inspired to make the concluding chapter fly.

(he also suggested putting headings in the three cases i present)

looking back, my meetings with Allan took place on August 24th, September 9th, 15th, 26th, October 26th, November 24th, and today. that's an average of one meeting every two weeks. within the space of just over three months, he's managed to help give the thesis a theoretical backbone and a razor-sharp focus.

it takes genius to do that.

southern belle

in this thirty-sixth episode of ventriloquy, i re-visit Singapore's last remaining rocky shoreline at Labrador Park.

it lies at the southern-most tip of mainland Singapore. we last explored the park in episode thirty, back in October. this time, instead of focussing on the geology of the area, we learn more about its geomorphology and history.

i would like to dedicate this episode (which is 21.2 MB in size) to the group of pre-schoolers and their teacher, whom i had the privilege of meeting, as i was out filming. their cheery faces and ready contributions and responses remain only in my memory, and serve to remind me why i am a teacher.
